Utah Family Photographer | Saratoga Springs Extended Family Photos
As an Utah Family Photographer local to the Saratoga Springs area it is sometimes a little tricky finding locations. Especially locations for large families taking extended family photos! Loch Lomond Pond is an excellent spot, and one I use often. This session had 32 people! The behind the scenes that helped make this shoot happen contained: emergency potty trips, cookies, shoes getting stuck in water, a guitar, stick-sword fighting, and even the beloved character Elmo! This also happens to be my husband’s side of the family! Extended family photos take a lot of work and patience from everyone, and I’m happy to report that everyone here rocked it. The location being close to Eagle Mountain and Lehi was a major bonus too.
During extended family sessions I love to get as many different break outs and combinations I can. In addition to the classic picture with everyone, I make sure to get shots of the grandparents and grandkids together. Frequently during family sessions you have to roll with the punches. During this break out we had a parent be an “honorary grandchild” to make sure all the grandkids got in the photo! I also love giving each family their own little mini session. This includes family, couples, and individual shots. Then of course, we get the photos of the OG family and siblings!
This spot between Saratoga Springs and Lehi has lots of different spots with dreamy lighting guaranteeing a good variety of images during family photography sessions. I was so happy to be able to capture these family pictures while the whole family was in town for a family reunion.
